A decadent cake combining rich chocolate and the depth of non-alcoholic stout beer. Moist, fudgy layers made with cocoa powder and buttermilk for a balanced sweetness and velvety texture. Perfect for special occasions or indulgent desserts.

Ingredients

1 cup non-alcoholic stout beer (or brewed coffee)
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Line two 9-inch cake pans with parchment paper
In a medium saucepan, gently warm butter with non-alcoholic stout until butter melts
Whisk in cocoa powder until fully dissolved
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt
Gradually add wet ingredients (butter-mix), buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract
Pour batter into prepared pans
Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
Cool completely before frosting and slicing

Notes

Use brewed coffee for a richer flavor if non-alcoholic stout is unavailable
Avoid using any pork products in frosting or garnishes
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days
