Ingredients

1 loaf brioche or challah, cut into cubes

8 large eggs

2 cups milk

1 cup heavy cream

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups strawberries, sliced

1 cup blueberries

1/2 cup raspberries

2 tbsp melted butter

Powdered sugar, for finishing

Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish

2. Spread half of the bread cubes in the dish

3. Scatter half of the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries over the bread

4. Add the remaining bread and top with the remaining berries

5. Whisk the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt

6. Pour the custard evenly over the bread mixture

7. Drizzle melted butter over the top

8. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes or overnight

9. Preheat oven to 350°F

10. Bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes until golden and set

11. Rest for 10 minutes

12. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with maple syrup

Challah or brioche both work well in this casserole
