Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Extra chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.

3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk until combined.

4. Stir in flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.

5. Fold chocolate chips into the dough evenly.

6. Press dough into prepared baking pan.

7. Add extra chocolate chips across the top.

8. Bake for 28 to 34 minutes until edges are lightly golden.

9. Cool completely before slicing into bars.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep the bars soft and chewy.

Chill briefly before slicing for cleaner cuts.

Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
