2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a bowl.

3. Spread cherry mixture into prepared baking dish.

4. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.

5. Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.

6. Stir until a smooth batter forms.

7. Spoon batter evenly over cherry filling.

8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and bubbly.

9. Cool slightly before serving.
