Transform asparagus into a restaurant-worthy side with roasted garlic and Parmesan. Crisp-tender and full of flavor, this elegant dish pairs perfectly with any main course and takes under 15 minutes to make.

Ingredients

Fresh asparagus, 1/2 pound
Salt, 1/2 teaspoon
Freshly ground black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon
Minced garlic, 3 cloves
Parmesan cheese, 2-3 tablespoons, finely grated
Olive oil spray, for coating

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a standard baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Rinse the fresh asparagus spears thoroughly under cold running water.
Trim the tough woody ends from the bottom of each asparagus stalk.
Spread the prepared asparagus in a single layer on the lined baking sheet.
Spray the asparagus evenly with olive oil spray to create a light coating.
Sprinkle salt and pepper over the asparagus.
Top with minced garlic and grated Parmesan cheese.
Roast for 9 minutes or until the asparagus is tender-crisp and the edges are lightly browned.
Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
Finely grated Parmesan from a block melts better than pre-packaged.
Toss asparagus after 5 minutes to ensure even roasting, if needed.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days.
