A refreshing and simple classic lemonade perfect for summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 ½ cups fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cups cold water

Instructions

  1. Start by making a simple syrup. In a small pot, combine 1 ½ cups of sugar with 1 ½ cups of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves. Once dissolved, remove it from heat and let it cool.
  2. Juice enough fresh lemons to get 1 ½ cups of lemon juice. This usually takes about 6 to 8 lemons, depending on their size. Once you have the fresh lemon juice, combine it in a large pitcher with the cooled simple syrup.
  3. Add 4 cups of cold water to the mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Taste the lemonade; adjust sweetness as needed.
  4. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve your lemonade in tall glasses filled with ice. Optionally, garnish with a slice of lemon or mint.

Notes

Use fresh lemons for the best flavor and adjust sweetness to your preference.
